Sophie Monson

My name is Sophie, I’m a self taught 24 y/o artist originally from

Salt Lake City, UT, currently living in Tacoma, WA. My main passion

is drawing, but I work in many media, with an additional focus on

unconventional fashion.

As an artist, people are always demanding meaning from me.

I don’t make art to convey a meaning; I make art to learn from the

artistic process. It’s an exercise I must practice to make connections,

by allowing the process to take me, and the piece, where it needs

to be taken. The end result is not here to impose any agenda.

It’s more like a map of the connections I made, and the freedom

of motion I gained from the experience of creation.
